Frayed Silk ~Ella Fields

Our marriage wasn't just in trouble—mere threads were all that held it together.
What was once my perfect happily ever after had dissolved right before my eyes.
I can tell you when it started to happen.
What I can't tell you is why.
And after seven months of watching my husband turn into someone I didn't recognize, I'd given up hope in finding answers.

So I decided to break his heart
... and he did nothing to stop me.

Trigger warning: This book contains cheating and other sensitive subject matter.

I devoured this book

Loved Loved Loved!! Wow did not see that twist coming..

This book does have cheating so if that's an issue for you - do not read.. But in my opinion is what ultimately makes this story so unique and real.

Just WOW!!! the marriage aspect of the book, the families and children involved, the friends we keep by our sides in good and bad times, betrayal, secrets, insecurities, communication.. ALL of that played a role in this story and I devoured every bit of it! I was all over the place with emotions and stayed up late reading cause I had to know how it would end. Marriage isn't always pretty, it isn't always about googly eyes, kissy faces and definitely never perfect .. It's about sacrifices, selflessness, communication and at times forgiveness.

Ella Fields swept us through Leo and Lia's life - the good and the bad and she did it wonderfully!!

The Debt ~ Karina Halle

Her life changed in an instant.
And he's the only one who could have prevented it.

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Pact and The Lie comes a new standalone contemporary romance about those McGregor men.

Jessica Charles shouldn't have even been in London when the unthinkable happened.
She should have been back at home in Edinburgh, perhaps hanging with her boyfriend, preparing the baby shower for her sister or doing yoga with her group of friends. She should have been going on in her normal, dependable life as always.
But on that fateful day in August, when a mentally-ill ex-soldier opened fire in public, Jessica's world changed forever.
Now single and crippled from the gunshot wounds, Jessica finds herself scared and alone, losing faith in herself and humanity with each agonizing moment that passes.
That is until a stranger enters her life. A stranger who makes her live again.
Keir McGregor has always been the strong, silent type. Throw in tall, dark, and handsome and you've got pretty much the perfect Scotsman.
Except Keir is anything but perfect. He's got a past he's running away from and a guilty conscience he can't seem to shed. But the more time he spends with Jessica, the more he falls in love with her.
And the more his secret threatens to tear them apart.
He may have been a stranger to her.
But she’s never been a stranger to him.

What an amazing story.. I FELT the connection between these two broken characters
right from the start..
This one blew it right out of the park!!

The opening to this story was gut wrenching and utterly raw..
we hear about it on the news so much more frequent now..
I for one always wondered about the survivors of these horrendous radical crimes ..
what of the family and friends of the offender.. how it all impacts everyone involved..
How could anyone deal with this not just physically but mentally!

Guilt is a very ugly thing - something that can consume you.. mix that with lies & secrets and you have a concoction you might never be able to run away from!!

I won't get into the story other than to stay I absolutely loved it..
It was so beautiful to see Jessica and Keir slowly fall in love but I was also on the edge of my seat waiting for all hell to break loose and the shit hit the fan!!

It was emotional, real, raw, sexy, inspiring and the feels just kept coming out of everywhere!!
It's a must read for Karina Halle fans she's out done herself again!!

My Time in the Affair ~ Stylo Fantome

~Mischa~

I made a conscious decision to cheat on my husband.

Now, before you judge me, hear my story. Hear how much I'm like you, how similar my thoughts are to your own. Yes, I'm a horrible person. Yes, I've done horrible things. Yes, I don't deserve forgiveness. Yes, bad things happened because of my actions.

But I'm willing to bet I've done things that maybe, just maybe, you have thought of doing.

Maybe, just maybe, you're not as innocent as you'd like to think.

Or maybe I'm not so guilty ...

Warning this book had to do with cheating
It's not sugar coated, she wasn't legally separated, she made a conscious decision to do so.
I do not condone cheating but have to admit I love the adrenaline rush I get when reading about it..
The unknown, the guilt, the emotions..It all plays havoc on me and I Love It!!!

It all starts with!!!

This was the first book I'd picked up by Stylo Fantome and I was hooked!!!
The pace of the book, the characters, the emotions all flowed so seamlessly
I Loved how Mischa wasn't in denial over what was going on..
she didn't blame anyone but herself for what she'd done...did she have second thoughts? Yes..
Did she question her actions and feel regret?  Abso~fucking~lutely...
Was there a back story and events that lead to her adulterous status? Uh Yea..
But she owned it.. She was honest with her self and to those she hurt when it was time..

But there was SO much more going on in this story..
believe it or not that was just a sliver of what had actually been set in motion..
There was suspense, there was drama, there were tear jerking moments I had to claim something got in my eye..
and there was SEX... rip your clothes off, up against the wall  smexin, dirty talking, panty drenching sex..

So Heck yes this was a Fan~freaking~tastic read..
which made me a total fan of this author

Walk Through Fire (Chaos, #4) ~ Kristen Ashley

Millie Cross knows what it's like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and he was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn't be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie's chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can't ignore. And this time, she won't let him ride off . . .

Bad boy Logan "High" Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she's just a ghost of her former self. High's intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn't want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie's betrayal, he'll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man . . .

This read was by far top on my gut wrenching, hysterical cry list!!
It had every scenario that is a trigger for me and focused on a topic that hits so close to home.
I was an absolute and utter mess... I felt as if I got shattered into pieces!!

Kristen Ashley has this way of writing, that you can distinguish every one of her series from the next.. When she writes you feel like your taking it all in visually as well..
When Millie cried I cried, when she laughed I laughed and when she hurt dammit I felt it also..
This read was real, it was about letting go of everything you loved no matter the pain
"Walking Through Fire"
to give that person that means everything to you the world... a second chance..

Secrets.. Lies.. Betrayal..
Selflessness!!!!

Gahhh I can't recommend this read enough..
Just make sure your alone, not in any public areas and have a ton of tissues handy..
Cause your in for one hell of an emotional ride!

Swelter ~ Nina G. Jones

I married the right brother.

At least that's what I tell myself at night, when I stare at the ceiling and listen to the rhythm of the grandfather clock down the hall. It never feels like the mere passage of time, but a countdown towards something inevitable.

Bobby Lightly is selfish, irresponsible, and careless. I haven't seen him since the day I married his brother. He slipped out during the wedding reception without a word.

A year later, I heard Bobby was drafted to Korea. He never said goodbye. Never sent a letter. We had all come to terms with the fact that he was probably dead somewhere, either a victim of the war or its aftermath.

That is, until in the midst of an unrelenting heatwave, he showed up at the doorstep of the house I lived in with his brother.

Everyone thinks I'm cruel. Everyone thinks I should be easy on him. They think I don't understand him. They all think I hate him.

But what no one understands is that it was Bobby who broke my heart.

And I think he’s back to do it again.

I just need to rip the band aid off as they say since
I just cannot seem to compose myself long enough to put my feelings and thoughts into words..
Long enough to express how this book took me on a ride that utterly wrecked me..
It let me see first hand how unfair and cruel the world is even when you think you made life altering decisions and sacrificed your own happiness for reasons you wholeheartedly believed were right!!!

Melancholy
would be the word that describes this feeling I can't seem to shake.
There were so many whys while reading that I was left with that fluttering feeling of despair in my stomach
and even when answered were unjustifiable to me and just made me wish we could some how, some way Turn Back Time so they could've made all the wrong decisions and to hell with it all!!

The story was based in the mid 50's, and through out we get these enchanting flash back moments
of  lazy summer days spent by a lake house, late night skinning dipping, basically kids having fun
while turning into teens developing crushes and then the reality of young adulthood..
while reading I got to envision the fashion,
imagine hearing the music, feel the heat of those Sweltering Summer months
that changed so many lives and will stay with me for a very long time.
In my opinion it WAS a dark read.. not in a sadistic twisted way..
more like in a real every day way where you feel no matter what decisions are
made someone will get hurt, someone will get the short end of the stick.
Life isn't always about HEA's it's real and raw..
And we got our fair share of it.

I highlighted so many lines while reading,
but most I can't share without giving away so many pertinent pieces to Bobby & Lilly's story,
so many stolen moments that had me in knots, fanning myself cause they were so steamy or in hysterical fits..

So all I can say is go stock up on some Kleenex and READ IT!!!

Sins of Sevin ~ Penelope Ward

What happens when the one you want is the only one you can’t have?

My name is Sevin.

Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin.

Elle was the girl who’d been carefully chosen for me.

After a long-distance courtship, I’d be moving into her family’s guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding.

Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage.

I’d accepted those rules and my fate.

Until I met the one I wanted to sin with.

That was when restraint became a problem…especially since "the one" wasn’t Elle.

It was her sister, Evangeline.

You know what they say about best laid plans.

My name is Sevin, and I have sinned.

Talk about Angst!! Wow this one tipped the scales..
I am such a glutton for punishment because the deeper the story got the quicker I turned those pages.

Sevin underestimated his worth..
But he always stood true to what he wanted and what he would do and give up to get !!!
I felt like such a hypocrite because I was rooting for Sevin and Evangeline from the very start and pretty much all the way until....
 I didn't like Evangeline anymore

I understood why she felt so guilty, I understood why she tried to keep her distance but I just couldn't understand and stomach what she did to Sevin..
I just had to tell myself she had good intentions, she ultimately wasn't being selfish, she paid for her sins.. And was able too breathe and finally got to cry happy tears when we got somewhat of a happy ending..

This was such an emotional read, about fate, beliefs, guilt, betrayal as well as trust and forgiveness..

A must read for Angst Lovers!!
It's all about
Forbidden Desires & Unconditional Love
